Microsoft | HALO 4

I worked with Blue Whale Studios in Atlanta on Microsoft’s Halo Outpost Discovery and Gears of War 5 E3 Expos. I worked mainly in 3D modeling and printing capacities. I also worked in the shop in mold making, casting and 3D print clean-up. See below for more details.

3D Modeling & Printing

I headed up 3D print processing for Halo’s “Hazel” and “Owen” Spartan characters, seen in brown and blue armor, respectively. My main responsibilities included cleaning up, remodeling, and validating Microsoft’s original in-game models for 3D printing. This job involved validating 3D models in Rhinoceros 3D and ZBrush (cleaning up meshes, unifying normals, deleting non-manifold edges, boolean operations, etc.) as well as custom fitting the models of armor pieces onto the 3D scans of our actors. I was also responsible for exporting files, generating G-Code, cuing for print, and building and maintaining filament based 3D printers.
